A Paint/Coating Inspector is a quality control professional responsible for ensuring that coatings applied to various surfaces and materials meet quality and performance standards. They inspect surfaces, materials, and application techniques to identify and rectify any defects or deviations.

Full-Time

Required Skills

  • Monitor surface preparation activities, such as cleaning, blasting, and priming.
  • Perform visual and holiday test inspections on pressure vessels and piping.
  • Work with painters and blasters to help minimize defects.
  • Perform repairs when needed.
  • Manage all documentation requirements per the internal test plan.
  • Verify compliance with specified application techniques and procedures.
  • Check for defects like runs, sags, orange peel, and other imperfections.
  • Ensure the final product meets customer requirements including but not limited to DFT, Holiday Testing, overall appearance, finish, and durability.

Physical Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in painting, construction, or related field.
  • Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and industry standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certification as a Painting Inspector (e.g., NACE Level I or II) is preferred.
